Sales Training

Sales 101 exists to help clients improve their sales performance.

Improving sales performance is not just about sales training.  Before you can sell effectively you first need to know exactly what you are selling, to whom you are selling it, and the market in which you are operating.  Above all you must have an absolutely clear idea of the benefits you bring to your clients and customers.

So the first step to improving your sales performance is getting your sales strategy right.  This might mean taking a hard look at your product or service.  You may also have to look at your market, the activity of your competitors and the efficiency of your marketing collateral.  Once you have a clear idea of what it is you are selling and why the market should buy it, we can then look at sales training which will give you the sales skills you need.

To achieve superior sales performance, salespeople need to acquire a number of critical skills.  As well as a thorough understanding of the business development cycle, they also need to have skills in building rapport, asking questions, creating powerful and relevant presentations and closing.

This site is designed to help sales leaders to find the right sales tools, materials and resources to help them train sales teams effectively so that they can generate more revenue at higher profit.

Salesmen, particularly inexperienced salesmen, often think that the trick of good selling is to reduce their price.  Here at Sales 101 our favourite quote is from John Ruskin (English Writer and Critic of art, architecture, and society, 1819-1900) who said "There is hardly anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price only are this man's lawful prey."
